Idler and pulley

When we need to lift heavy objects, such as large bags of flour, or massive vessels full of watermelons, we typically turn to machines for assistance. A conveyor is one specific kind of very popular Pattern conveyor belt machine used for this purpose. However, conveyor belts are important and there are used pretty much everywhere, including farms, mines and even grocery checkout! They help you easily transport things from point A to point B. But have you ever wondered how a conveyor belt actually works

Idlers are small wheels or rollers that sit in between the conveyor belt and the machine's body. It helps hold up the weight of the belt and what the belt is carrying. An idler also maintains belt tension, which is necessary for proper operation. A pulley is, however, a bigger wheel than an idler. This is connected to a motor that gives the power to drive the belt, and it has a grooved surface that the belt goes over.

The Role of Idlers and Pulleys in Conveyor Belt Transportation

With a clearer definition of what idlers and pulleys are, let’s take a closer look at how they work together to move items on a Sidewall conveyor belt. A strong and pliable material, such as rubber or PVC, is used as the belt, giving it the durability needed to move heavy object. The pulley is attached to one side of the belt. The motor turns the pulley, which pulls the belt along, and the objects move from one end of the conveyor to the other

There are many factors to consider when choosing idlers and pulleys such as the weight and dimensions of the load that will be transported. The idlers must be strong enough to support the weight of those really heavy items without bending or breaking. Likewise, the pulleys should be sufficiently strong to support the load, as well as to sustain adequate tension of the belt.
